The COVERGIRL Eye Enhancer Wrap Tubing Mascara is worth buying if you want length from one quick coat and you hate fat, round mascara wands. The thin wand gets right under the lash line without poking you. Buy it for everyday lift. Skip it if removal ease matters more to you than application.

How this review was made: written from my own video review of this product. Every opinion here is my own, from using it myself.

Quick Verdict

One quick coat and I said out loud, that’s pretty good. This one got lost in my drawer for a bit and I forgot how much I like it. The narrow wand is the whole reason, and I’ll be using it again.

Buy if you:

  • want a long, narrow wand you can get right under the lash line
  • dread fat round brushes because you feel like you’ll poke your eye
  • want length from one coat on a work morning
  • want a drugstore-priced tube you can replace without thinking about it

I Lost It In A Drawer For Months

I thought I’d do another video on the wrap mascara because I hadn’t touched it in a while. It had just kind of gotten lost in my drawer, and one morning I thought, oh, I should grab that out. That’s the whole origin story of this review of the COVERGIRL tubing mascara.

I like to try different mascaras, so things do get buried. But the second I had the wand in my hand I remembered why I bought it.

The Narrow Wand Is The Whole Product

The wand is the whole reason this mascara earns a second coat. It’s long and narrow enough that I can press right up against the lash line, no tilting my head back, no holding my breath so I don’t stab myself in the cornea.

I struggle with wands that are super thick and round. With those I always feel like I’m going to poke myself in the eye, so I end up holding back and not getting the roots. That hesitation is what costs you length, not the formula. This wand is very nice because it goes where I want it to go.

In one quick coat, that’s pretty good. I wasn’t building it up in layers or fussing. One pass, lashes separated, no clumps sitting in the middle of my lashes. COVERGIRL puts the number at up to 143% more visible lash length, and I can’t measure that on camera. What I can tell you is that it opened up my eyes, and I really like the look of it.

COVERGIRL Eye Enhancer Wrap Tubing Mascara, 30-Hour Wear, Visible Length, Tapered Wand, Effortless Removal, Vegan Formul

I did go back and add a little bit more, because for some reason I seemed to have done a better job on this eye. It’s sometimes harder to do one eye than the other, isn’t it? That’s me, not the mascara, but it’s worth knowing you may still do a touch-up pass. Then, there you go. Beautiful.

On staying power: COVERGIRL claims 30 hours and warm-water removal, and I genuinely can’t verify that because I don’t track how my mascara holds up by the hour. What I can tell you is that it didn’t smudge on me mid-day. Removal isn’t where I spend my energy, if it’s on my face, it’s coming off, so if easy takedown is your main criteria, that’s a gap in this review you should know about.

What The Money Buys You

This sits at drugstore pricing in a 0.27 fl. oz. tube, which is the standard size you’d get from any mascara on that shelf. Check the current price on the product page, since it moves around.

The comparison isn’t to a salon lash lift. It’s to the other tube sitting in your drawer. If that one has a fat, round brush you fight with every morning, this is a cheap swap that fixes the actual problem. If you already own a narrow-wand mascara you like, the tubing formula alone probably isn’t worth the switch.

I’ll Be Using It Again

I should have been using this a lot more. That’s my real verdict after pulling it back out: the thing I liked about it was still true months later, and the only reason I’d stopped was that it fell to the bottom of a drawer.

I’m in my 50s, and what I want from a mascara now is lift and definition rather than a big spidery look. This gave me that in one coat, with a wand that doesn’t make me nervous near my eye. The trade-off is that it’s a lengthener, not a volumizer, and I still needed a second pass on one eye to even things out.

If a thick wand is the reason you’ve been skipping mascara some mornings, this is the swap. It costs drugstore money and it’s already back on top of my drawer instead of buried under everything else, which is the most practical endorsement I can give it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you wear tubing mascara with contact lenses?

Yes, and that’s one of the reasons people pick tubing formulas. COVERGIRL lists this one as ophthalmologically tested and vegan, and the tubes lift off rather than flaking into your eye. If your eyes are reactive, put it on after your lenses are in.

What shades does it come in?

Three: 800 Max Motion Black, 810 Espresso Energy, and 815 Midnight Stride. Black is the one I used. Espresso is the softer option if full black reads too harsh on fair lashes.

How often should you replace a mascara tube?

Every three months or so once it’s opened, which is shorter than most people think. Mine sat in a drawer, and the lesson there is to keep a new mascara somewhere you’ll see it. Pumping the wand in and out pushes air in and dries the formula out faster.
