The Naked Sundays mineral sunscreen primer is worth buying if your skin runs red and you want SPF 50 without a second step. It’s 24.5% zinc oxide in a sheer skin-tone cream that blended into my redness instead of sitting white on top of it. Buy it, knowing it isn’t water resistant.

Quick Verdict
I’m red right now, and this came out a natural skin-tone color that toned me down instead of ghosting me white. It’s a primer I was going to put on anyway, with SPF 50 built in. That’s the whole case for it.
Buy if you:
- deal with facial redness and hate how white mineral SPF looks on it
- always apply primer but forget sunscreen, like I do
- want fine lines softened a little before foundation goes on
- react to fragranced chemical sunscreens
Skip if you:
- need swim or sweat protection, it isn’t water resistant
- want a true tinted product, the skin-tone shade is sheer, not coverage
- already use a separate primer you love and won’t give it up

The Color Was the Surprise
I watched it blend into my red face instead of sitting white on top, and that’s what sold me. I’m red at the moment, you can see it on camera, and 24.5% zinc oxide usually means a chalky grey film sitting on top of that redness. This one didn’t do that. It almost tones me down a little bit, which is great for where I’m at in this stage of life. It also kind of fills in some fine lines and wrinkles, not erasing them, just softening the surface before anything else goes on. You can check the current listing and price here.
And it’s got sunscreen in it, which is amazing, because I always put primer on but sometimes I do forget the sunscreen. One step instead of two is the real value here.
What 50ml Costs You Over Time
One tube replaces both primer and sunscreen, so the real question is what you’re already spending on those two separately, if either is a premium brand, this almost certainly costs less combined. The fragrance-free, vegan, paraben-free formula also means I don’t have to think twice about putting it on reactive skin every single morning, which matters more than the ingredient list looks on paper.

The catch on a one-tube-does-two-jobs product is you go through it faster than you would a primer alone, because sunscreen needs a proper layer, not a thin smear.
Where This Sensitive Skin Sunscreen Falls Short
It’s not water resistant, so it’s not your beach or gym product. That’s the clearest limit. Swimming, sweating, a humid afternoon, you’ll be reapplying, and reapplying over makeup is awkward with any primer-SPF. It’s built for face and neck, under makeup, on a normal day.
The skin-tone shade is also sheer. It evened me out, it didn’t cover me. If you were hoping for a tinted product that replaces foundation, this isn’t it, and the pore-blurring is subtle rather than dramatic.
Who I’d Hand This To
Anyone with redness who wants daily SPF 50 without a white cast, specifically the kind of redness that makes high-zinc mineral sunscreens look actively worse than nothing. The texture is light enough that my foundation sat on top without pilling, which is the thing that usually kills a primer-SPF combo for me.
If you already own a primer you love and a sunscreen that behaves, you don’t need this. But if you’ve got redness, a forgetfulness problem with SPF, and no particular loyalty to your current primer, stopping here and ordering it is the right call.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I patch test it first?
Yes, test a small patch on your jaw for a day or two even though it’s fragrance-free. Zinc oxide is about as gentle as actives get, but Centella and Vitamin E can still bother a very reactive face. Better to find out on a patch than on a full application.
Can I use it on my neck and chest too?
Face and neck, yes, those are the listed target areas. At 50ml you’ll burn through it quickly if you extend to chest and shoulders, so a body sunscreen makes more sense there.
How do I reapply during the day over makeup?
You don’t, not easily. It’s a primer-textured cream meant to go under makeup, so midday reapplication means a powder or stick SPF on top instead. That’s the trade for getting both steps in one tube in the morning.
