This hydrating tinted lipstick is worth buying if you live somewhere dry and want a little color without a heavy lip. It wears like a gloss but gives real lip color, and the neutral summer shade blends naturally. Buy it, knowing the twist-up needs a few presses before product appears.

Quick Verdict
I sat in my car and opened it on camera because I was that excited. It feels like lip gloss but it’s lip color, and it’s a nice neutral shade for summer. That’s exactly what I was after.
Buy if you:
- live somewhere dry and reach for chapstick all day
- want a little color that still looks natural
- already own the clear version and liked it
- want something to throw in your bag for errands
Skip if you:
- hate fiddling, the twist-up took several presses before any product came out
- want bold, opaque, full-coverage lipstick
- need a shade match from the photo, the color range varies

I Opened It in the Car Because I Couldn’t Wait
I literally just bought this and filmed it in the parking lot. I already have one of these in clear and I quite like it, so when I saw this shade I was like, oh, I like this color, it’ll be great. You can see it on Amazon here. First press of the bottom, nothing. Second, nothing. It took a few times in the beginning before it came up. Not a deal-breaker, just know it’s normal.
Where This Hydrating Tinted Lipstick Sits
This sits between chapstick and lipstick, sheer color with hydration, no commitment to either extreme. I’m always on the hunt for something that blends well but still looks a bit natural, and most lipsticks pick one or the other.
It’s Not a Gloss, Even Though It Feels Like One

The formula earns the gloss comparison: it glides on with the same slippy feel, no drag, no waxy landing. But unlike a gloss, it leaves actual color behind, sheer enough that I wore it for a grocery run without feeling done up. Living somewhere bone-dry means I reach for chapstick constantly, so finding something that handles hydration and color in one pass is genuinely useful. The point worth stating plainly: hydrating doesn’t mean clear, and clear doesn’t mean hydrating. This does both.
Pick Your Shade, Then Check Today’s Price
Of the two decisions to make, shade and timing, timing is the one most people skip. I have the clear and now this neutral; for summer, neutral is the obvious call and I haven’t second-guessed it. But the price on this moves around. So check today’s price on Amazon rather than assuming. If you want color with hydration for summer, this is an easy one to try.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need a liner or balm underneath?
No. I put it straight on bare lips in the car and it felt hydrating on its own. If you normally layer balm first out of habit, you probably won’t need to with this one.
Can you build it up for more color?
Somewhat, but it’s designed to stay sheer and natural. A second pass deepens it a little. If you want a bold opaque lip, this isn’t the one.
Should I patch test it?
If you react easily to lip products, dab a bit on the inside of your wrist first and wait 24 hours before applying it to your lips. I had no reaction at all, but lips absorb product differently than arm skin, so if you’re prone to irritation, the extra day is worth it.
