This living room dehumidifier is worth buying if you want humidity control that doesn’t look like shop equipment. You set a target level and it shuts off once it reaches that humidity, and there’s continuous drain, a timer, fan speed and a child lock. Buy it.

How this review was made: written from my own video review of this product. Every opinion here is my own, from using it myself.
It Looks Like Living Room Furniture, Not Shop Equipment
Most dehumidifiers look like something dragged in from a garage, grey plastic, industrial grilles, a handle on top that screams “appliance.” This one doesn’t. After testing a few of these units, the design is what I keep coming back to, because it’s the reason you can actually leave it where the problem is instead of hiding it in a closet. See it on Amazon for current pricing.
It Shuts Off at Your Target Humidity Level, Then Kicks Back On

You set a target humidity level, and once the unit reaches it, it shuts off and doesn’t touch the air again until humidity creeps back up. That cycle repeats on its own. If you’d rather it run all the time, there’s continuous operation, which runs until the tank is full, or indefinitely if you connect the hose and drain it.
There’s a timer, fan speed control, and a lock, so if you have little ones around you can lock the panel. And of course you can turn the light off, which matters if this is sitting in a room you relax in. The one catch: a drain hose setup means it needs to live near a drain, so the “put it in the living room” idea and the “run it continuously” idea don’t always coexist. You’d be emptying the tank instead.
Before You Click Buy
Check whether the hose is included before ordering, and check today’s price on Amazon. If the unit lives where you live, not in a utility room, not behind a door, this is the one that earns that placement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the child lock stop it from running?
No, it locks the control panel so the settings can’t be changed. The unit keeps doing whatever you set it to. Handy if kids like pressing buttons.
Can I leave it running while I’m out?
Yes, with the timer or the humidity setting. On continuous without a hose it’ll stop once the tank fills, so for unattended all-day running you’d want the hose draining somewhere.
What humidity level should I set?
A comfortable middle for most rooms is around 45%, though you can adjust based on preference. Lower settings mean it runs more often.
